Getaway Fantasia 2010 Summer

(ticket written in collaboration with Ariane)

This year we decided to take a vacation by visiting the North Shore and Charlevoix. The route, rather ambitious, extended over 2000 km and was as follows:
at about three hours a day, we visited several cities, particularly St. Paul's Bay La Malbaie, Tadoussac, Forestville, Baie-Comeau, Port Cartier, Sept-Iles and Havre St. Pierre.

Some representative images of the trip:
After a stint in Quebec City to read a book, the first stop in Baie Saint-Paul, who surprise us by its beautiful landscapes ... and also by the kitsch of some of its businesses. We could not resist the prospect of going to dinner this sign:
The Passage to Tadoussac is exotic and, once passed this village, the impression of discovering a vast quasi- uninhabited becomes ubiquitous ... But for now, let's look at this huge whale bones near a museum, thrown to visitors, many of these places:
Arrive at motel in Forestville, typical of the accommodation of the hinterland that we were plowing for a week.
Passage through the dock in Forestville, industrial city, where we play, as shown in the second film in a yard near the wharf. In the distance, but invisible on the photograph, several cars filled with teenagers suggested screams festive music and "special occasion". The place seemed to accommodate gatherings similar to that America was in the 50s his novels and his films.
Shortly after Baie-Comeau, a lookout offers this panoramic view for visitors. The prospect of the photo will judge the altitude, impressive.
The sand on the beach has been limited, the space of a moment, the receptacle of an unusual work of art, soon covered by the tide. Thus passes the glory of the world ...
After the Aztec ruins, the ruins of Port-Cartier. This post-apocalyptic landscape has captured the urgency of Frederick compare novels to films and post-nuclear, what Ariane is still suffering the consequences, several weeks later. To be continued in September ...
After the devastation of civilization ... Loneliness and deprivation had resulted in us desires of middle-class, hence our choice to stay at The Chateau Motel, copiously quoted ... two stars! We admired the majestic façade.
East end of our trip: Havre St. Pierre. We discover a village ocean lashed by incessant winds. Even Internet connection had been swept away by the winds ...
after Aeolus, Zeus: Rivière-au-Tonnerre, a fishing village which we have attempted to capture the charm of multiple photos with a sample here.
break in Sheldrake Cemetery, with its cross planted facing the river ...
Brief Overview of Sept-Iles. Compared with places desert we had crossed earlier (sometimes tens of kilometers fir impassive), the city was taking looks like a metropolis. Here, Ariane is experimenting with a carpet of algae whose intentions do not seem malicious.
Lighthouse Pointe-des-Monts, simply superb
These images make much sense that we sometimes find ourselves, as the cliché of use, "in the middle of nowhere. They evoke a certain Americanness, even those movies where a couple of city dwellers to stop refueling and collides with a degenerate family of cannibals. In our case, we have not met. Probably only do they live in the United States, said Frederick (But it was documented on the issue very seriously, so it is hard to dispute that statement).
Ferry in the opposite direction from Tadoussac toward Charlevoix, a region famous for its natural ... and endless mountains!
Here, an overview of the dock of La Malbaie, visited frequently by tourists.
And this concludes our journey!
